Well, good new was, it only took me a few days to complete this. Bad news was, my computer HATED it. I was paranoid I was going to mess up so I had at least 50+ layers on there every time I made an adjustment. The final pic is at least 157 MB big. 8D
Anyhoo, this is my first time coloring hardcore with Photoshop instead of messing around with it.
Yes, I know the background is lame, I didn't know what else to do with it. I mainly wanted to work w/ the shadows and the reflected light (which... ended up being pink. Oops. Hopefully Vergil will forgive me.) It was interesting coloring by building slowly to the background instead of slapping on colors and then shading. I need to go look at some more coloring tutorials before I get it right, though.
Seriously, I'm going to add katanas to the growing list of things I never want to draw or color again. =___=;;

And, strangely enough, I think the background is pretty good, it blends and doesn't stick out from the pic but rather adds to it as well ^_^
